Yes! The quality is perfect! Unlike AIR.

If just the price was lower, I would defiantly buy this.

Finally, anime on Blu-Ray worth owning.

I posted some screenshots and some (German) information on my website:
www.sos-brigade.de/wordpress/?p=4465

The picture quality is really great.

The disks are at least Region A and B (I don't have other players), so they are probably region free.

Someone should read the description first...

English language options
English subtitles: Yes
English audio: No

Well, it'll be for sure a matter of time before someone makes the rips in h264 and flac 5.1

Skyjedi is totally wrong it's been confirmed that Kanon was KyoAni first series animated in HD (Its in one of the features on the DVDs), so this shouldn't be an upscale.

And Amazon Jp is selling this for $450.

I already downloaded Blu-Ray rips of this, and it looks like.. The worst shit I have ever seen. See for yourself

folke-hansen.dk/kusabax/a/res/1.html

I blame the group however, I cant imagine it looking like that on the actual discs.

I wonder wether the 5.1 will be real 5.1 and not a disgusting upmix...
Well that would be hell, but i know a few blu-rays which only where upscaled... like gits

Actually skyjedi, I wouldn't be so sure about Kanon being upscaled for Blu-ray release.
I got Air Blu-ray Boxset back in Holiday 2006 and it wasn't anything like DVD version of Air being upscaled, it was completely different class and level.
Same goes for Season 1 of Code Geass "Code Geass" which wasn't released as HD but you simply can't compare Blu-ray version of Code Geass to DVD version that's been upscaled by 1080p, again there in different class and different level.
I can say it was 100% HD from what I've seen from both titles(Air and Code Geass Blu-ray) and it should be more remastered than upscaled.
So expect to see some awesome HD picture and yeah you'll probably see it when you download Kanon BD-rips when they gets released.
Kanon was originally licensed by ADV but now licensed by FUNIMATION and FUNIMATION's been releasing many Blu-ray Box Set lately so I hope to see Kanon Blu-ray Boxset get released here in year or so.
BTW K-On! was never really rendered to HD it was originally made to HD for blu-ray release they just descaled to 480i on 4:3 version and 480p or it's upscaled version 720p on 16:9 version for the broadcast.(which is typical marketing strategy by Pony Canon, first show people crappy descaled quality version and then let people buy the original FULL HD version and this issue was critized by many Japanese net news and news papers as well.(not just K-On, Japan generally does this stupid things to attract lot of people to sell lot of their stuff) And yeah I said descaled, not downscaled and I'm sure most of you should know the difference and If you don't know here's an example: Think of downscale as 1080p bd-rip downscaled to 720p, descale as umm originally made 1080p K-On descaled to broadcast as 480i or 480p or upscaled 720p from 480p so it's quality is basically crap and yeah you pretty much get the idea by now.

Almost 800 american dollars on yesasia you have got to be kidding me for 24 episodes, and it will be upscaled too from what i have heard kyoani renders in standard definition, it is rumored that k-on was their first to be rendered in HD.

You would have to be crazy to pay this money for mathmatical upscales when you could just buy the dvds for much cheaper and an upscaling player, lol.

Kyoani the biggest troll of 2009 with haruhi. Fooled me once. i won't get fooled again.

@Alex P.
When comparing the episodes listed on ANN and Pony Canyon, I guess it's just Kanon 2006.
