My copy is still on it's way from Amazon. I was hoping for nice digipacks as well, but at least we finally get to see both films in HD quality AND with English subtitles. Can't wait for Criterion's announced BD release of Seven Samurai!

@kevtronn

Yep, this is mega sweet quality. Highly recommended to Kurosawa/Mifune/Nakadai fan's.

RE packaging. You're right, at least they are being consistant. But I have to admit, I actually prefered the digipacks they originally used. Like the CJ Entertainment First Press editions, they just looked classier. Just my opinion though, I know plenty hate digipacks.

The Slipcase is exactly the same as what Criterion did with Che & The Montery Pop Blu-ray Set. Criterion is at least being consistent on the blu-ray packages now. Already watched both, very impressed!

Just received my copy of this. Unfortunately I'm stuck at work for the next 8 hours so won't be able to watch til then. I am a little disappointed at the packaging. I was hoping for a nice gatefold package but it is just the two amary cases in a slip case

I'm pretty sure this is the same as the DVD version (will check when I get home) but was hoping the multi-disc version would be similar to the DVD packaging of The Last Emperor.

Minor package quible aside (it still looks very nice), I'm sure these are gonna be brilliant looking at reviews of the picture and audio to date.
