rumour has it these american sets will cost $100 each. wow! for that, they better keep the bitrate really high and basically give us the same or nearly the same number of BD as Japan had, just packed in 2 sets intead of semi-regular installments.
given, the J-BD were single layer, and they could foreseeably cut number of discs in half by using BD50.
I hope there will be some HD and last gen audio options (for folks who have trouble getting the core out, especially of the trueHD, more so than dtshdma). i guess some of that money will go into paying for a dubcast, too.
