I compared the picture with various screenshots on the Internet for Magnolia release and this appears to be cropped with information missing from the top and bottom. However, there are additional information along the sides on this release, so Magnolia release is slightly zoomed compared to this release.

DVDTalk Review of the DVD version of Char-lai

This goofy, comic book like take of Charlie's Angels from Thailand stars 3 gorgeous actress and 2 not so pretty actress as Char-lai, a group of secret agents. I guess they tried. Tried to look pretty, tried dangerous car stunts, tried martial arts showdowns, tried underwater stunts, but the end results are very amateurish and simplistic. At least 3 of the girls are pretty and easy on the eyes.

This Blu-ray from Taiwan distributor ShengChi/BitWel is once again a DVD upconvert, and not very good one at that. Image also looks slightly distorted probably from wrong aspect ratio. Previous DVD release from Magnolia was 1.78:1 and this is ~2.20:1. The sound is also supposedly uncompressed Thai in PCM 5.1, but does not deliver the goods. I wouldn't be surprised if the sound was also upconverted.
