That probably explains why I thought it was native cantonese as Andy Lau's mouth seems to match it. Regardless though, there is definitely a lot more going on in the Cantonese track which is why it is my track of preference.

I'd have to check again, but I believe the film itself has no original language.
Carina Lau and Andy Lau are probably dubbed in the Mandarin version, while everyone else is dubbed in the Cantonese version.
The Mandarin dub sounds more natural to me (and makes more sense).

It's more a matter of personal preference.
Remember Chinese Odyssey 2002? Faye Wong and Tony Leung were speaking Cantonese, Zhao Wei and Chang Chen were speaking Mandarin.

Mandarin IS the native language. Cantonese is a dub. This is without a doubt Mandarin film so buy with ease!

Cantonese was the native language for this release. The Mandarin is a dub.

In the Hong Kong version the Mandarin track is missing quite a bit that's in the Cantonese track - to the point the subtitles don't match the audio (i.e. subtitles when no one is even talking).

Grabbing this since the Australian release (at least according to the back cover) has Cantonese rather than Mandarin audio.

I hope the cover art is changed before release. It looks pretty generic and hobbled together. I'll be keen to check this one out (I'll add it to my massive "to watch" list).
