It could be said that a prequel was not needed in this series but hey its chow yun fat and anita mui! The tone of this film is very different to the first two movies. Its unusual to see a hk movie with such a political story line, but its an enjoyable movie taken on its own merits. Anita mui steals every scene she is in. Chow yun fat and anita mui have great chemistry. Tony leung ka fai gets a bit carried away at times but this is an enjoyable film. Picture quality is the worst of the 3 movies which is a shock given that its the newest. Picture is rather dull and washed out and suffers from visible print damage. Audio is fairly subdued but packs real depth on some of the action segments. Despite the flaws this disc is the best version of the movie available. Not sure why kam and ronson are persisting with the regional code as this must be costing them global sales along with their rather haphazard approach to restoration (or not!).
