Didn't Shinkai make those shorts on his home PC? I don't think they are available in HD anywhere.

From the press details it looks like the extras (including the short films) are in SD. If they'd been in HD, it would have been a major selling point.

I hope they don't forget that it won't be much of a global edition if they lock it region-A only...
