GitS 2 Innocence: Bandai Entertainment & Buena Vista comparison

Gary from DVD Beaver has put up a review of Bandai Entertainment's Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence release with some full resolution screenshots. Sadly all three audio tracks (original Japanese, the new Bandai dub and the old UK dub with the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex voice actors) are only available in lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 (EX). In Marc's first look at The Fanboy Review it is also mentioned that the UK dub is somehow messed up. But from comparing the available screenshots it looks like at least the same transfer was used on this and the new Japanese Absolute Edition. See the following screenshots for an almost frame-to-frame comparison:
Shot #1: Bandai Entertainment [US] - Buena Vista [JP]
Shot #2: Bandai Entertainment [US] - Buena Vista [JP]
Shot #3: Bandai Entertainment [US] - Buena Vista [JP]
Also, both releases are locked to Region A, so still no Innocence godness for European fans.

The US release is by Bandai Entertainment, not Bandai Visual (which is now officially called Honneamise, btw).

Thanks for the notice, I had already forgotten about the merging with Bandai Entertainment.

That sucks about the lossy audio. Not worth 3x the price to import a JP version though.

Stop, moment. Ist die japanische Version nicht Codefree?

They're both Region A.
