Here's another bunch of captures from FUNimation's upcoming Samurai 7 Complete Collection. Sadly, these show some ugly compression artefacts and heavily banding effects during the later episodes that makes you wonder if FUNimation got some kind of quality control at all. Seriously, how could they screw up on a prestige release like this? Let's hope that FUNi gets it's shit together for their Shigurui: Complete Collection...

Confirmation from FUNimation that the artifacts were on the master tapes Gonzo gave them.
Looks like a master issue to me (judging on the pattern of banding). This type of artifact is sadly present in far to many anime releases (Afro Samurai, Appleseed Ex Machina, Sky Blu to name a few).
