Warner has launched a nice program called Red2Blu for those of us who backed up the "wrong" format during the clone HD format wars and still have some unsellable HD DVDs in their movie collection. For a 4.95US$ fee per disc and 6.95US$ for s&h per shipment you can trade in the HD DVD original cover for a brand new Blu-ray Disc of the same title. The replacement should arrive withing 4-5 weeks. Until December 2009, every (US) household can trade in up to 25 discs with one copy per movie. See the Red2Blue FAQ for more details.
It's not know if or when Warner will offer similar programs for other countries.
Hong Kong & China
Japan
Korea
