Beware the crappy Machine Girl BD Release!

If you are thinking about ordering the HMV exclusive Machine Girl Blu-ray Disc announced here, please read this article, check out the full resolution screenshots below and then save your money! I got my copy from Guernsey today and I just couldn't believe my eyes when I popped the disc into my BD player(s)...
I don't know if Cine Asia didn't get proper source material or if they screwed up during the mastering process but I don't think material looking like this POS should be allowed on Blu-ray Disc! I've tested the disc on my PC drive, a PS3 and my standalone Panasonic DMP-BD80 (yes, I'm a freak!), and it looks absolutely terrible on every machine!Machine Girl is no Hollywood blockbuster (hell, it's not even a good movie!), but I wasn't expecting something like this! Especially if you compare it to the recent Blu-ray Disc release of the low budget Thai horror 'P' that was released and supervised by the director Paul Spurrier himself. Either the QC guys responsible for this release didn't even bother to look or they just didn't care what they're selling! The itself disc is region free, but the extra features consisting of a short making-of and some low resolution trailers are in encoded in PAL.
Cine Asia has a contact page, so feel free to tell them what you think about this kind of releases.

@Tom2681
You have to view the BD of "Machine Girl" on your own equipement and not rely on screencaps. Again, I'm not in any way defending this release, because it isn't what we've come to expect from Blu-Ray and HD. I realise that LCD TVs are ruthless in showing how crappy a given master really is, so I can't judge how that looks. On my plasma I also have slight pixelization, but it isn't nearly as bad as on those screenshots and in no way took the pleasure from watching this movie.
@Yukchan:
I still watch movies on VHS, and NONE of them look as bad as those screencaps.
Sometimes, the quality (or lack of quality) of some of those transfers makes it impossible to enjoy the movie at all.
This has nothing to do with age or budget. If it's unwatchable, it's unwatchable. Period.
Most of us just want to see decent-looking moving pictures. Not a bunch of big, ugly badly encoded pixels.
@Ulrik
I never said the transfer was good, but simply wanted to remind critics to enjoy movies for what they are and respect the sources origin. I'm all into HD these days and also think that Blu-Rays should present the films with the best video and audio quality possible. I often speak with friends, who are technical cracks, and they often complain about older and newer movies not measuring up to their standards. May I remind you that nobody complained about the PQ in times of VHS? It still surprises me how we could ever find VHS a satisfying medium... But those were the good old days.
@Yukchan
I wouldn't be _that_ upset if they just upscaled the SD source properly, but this pixel mess is ridiculous.
And as mentioned, I watched the disc on three different machines and screens.
Common guys. Sometimes I have to remind reviewers that not all movies are equal HD glory. This is a japanese low budget movie which can't be compared with new releases. Let me mention that the quality also strongly varies, depending on the equipement it is watched on... Anyways, let's not forget to watch the movies for what they are and please stop getting lost in details which are not really that big of an issue.
@djesteban
Done!
wow...
This is one particularly disgusting transfer... it is actually the worst I have seen by far.
Like Hazel said above, it is obvious that they took a SD source and resized the image. I am almost sure that if you take the DVD version and upscale it yourself, you will have a better result than this garbage.
Ulrik, you should add a black dot or something next to release like this that are evident substandard of their DVD counterpart so that people know not to buy retarded release like this one.
Wow, this looks like a DVD upscaled without even bothering to do any filtering, a direct nearest-neighbor resize only.
