Good times are coming for French fans of Asian cinema! Michael from Wildgrounds has posted this pamphlet by Wild Side Video on his twitter account which shows that the French distributor will release some nice titles including Takashi Miike's Crows Zero and Crows Zero 2, An Empress and the Warriors, The Sniper, OldBoy and Mamoru Oshii's The Sky Crawlers on BD in the next few months. Just don't expect English subtitles on these releases, French distributors are just as stubborn as their German neighbors...

The reason countries outside the UK and or the US have nu English subtitles, is simply a licensing issue.
For most tiltles, especially Anime titles, if you want to add English subs, you will need to pay the licensing fee for the USA as well.
And guess what, most companies don't want to bother to do that.
why the hell french? WHY WHY ?
god this is so ridiculous
Gaumont distributor for korean movies always have english subs, such as Sony releases (or at least "often" ^_^); but it is true they are quiet the only ones...
Wildside probably won't put some in their BR.
