Miramax to release Hero, Zatoichi, Iron Monkey and Legend of Drunken Master!

Miramax has finally decided to open their Asian films archive and announced to release Hero, Kitano's Zatoichi, Iron Monkey und Jackie Chan's moving alocoholic drama The Legend Of Drunken Master on Blu-ray Disc in the US on September 15, 2009! All four films will also be available in a "The Ultimate Force of Four" box set on the same date. ![]()
Hopefully Miramax will have better source material (or technicans) for Hero than Highlight/Constantin had so we can finally enjoy Zhang Yimou's masterpiece in an appropriate quality. And please, don't try to screw us with some crappy cut versions of Drunken Master and Iron Monkey, Miramax!

I agree with momaw on subtitle specially at the end when Broken Sword writes a text for nameless on the sand. The us release translation completely changed the intent of the message for the worst vs EDKO release.
According to the linked article Hero has a new transfer, but, please please please do new subtitles. The US release had the worst, most basic translation. The Hong Kong EDKO translation was so much better and added so much depth to the story missing from the simplistic US translation.
I think 99% will be the US cut, but if they include the original audio, I'll be happy enough.
Please Please a decent transfer for HERO . Most blu-ray releases so far for hero have been DVD quality or even below.
considering they are using the same lame box art for all the movies, it'd be pretty safe to assume we get the lame cut versions with lame music overlayed.
here's hoping they do them right tho.
