Nausicaa to land in Australia soon

Posted on August 01, 2010 at 21:11 by Ulrik.Tweet this

In the official forums (Madboards) of the Australian distributor Madman Entertainment, the cover artwork for an Blu-ray Disc release of Hayao Miyazaki's Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind has been posted.

Since the image was uploaded to Madman's own webspace, this probably means that Princess Nausicaä will indeed soon land in down under after the first amazing high definition release in Japan two weeks ago. No other details or dates have been announced yet.

Update: Madman confirmed the release for November on Twitter.

I knew it was next to unthinkable that the awesome minimalist Japanese cover art for Nausicaa would turn up on any international versions - but it's still a downer to see it confirmed, and to see something so average in its place.

Nice! Much better than paying the ~$80 via import. Would be great if Madman released Patlabor 1 & 2 on blu-ray as well
